Physics of X-Ray Beam Divergence

X-rays emerge from the tube's focal spot with fixed angular divergence:

θ = 2 × arctan(target size / source-target distance)

The field size at any distance (L) is calculated by:

D = D₀ + 2 × L × tan(θ/2)
